What is Your Role as Therapist?
My role is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore what’s going on. I’ll listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and offer practical tools. I won’t tell you what to do — we’ll work together to find the right way forward for you.
What Do I Need to Do?
Just bring yourself and a willingness to talk openly. There’s no homework unless you want it, though I may suggest simple exercises, reflections, or strategies to try between sessions if they feel useful.
How Long Should Therapy Last?
There’s no fixed rule. Some clients feel better after 3–6 sessions, while others choose longer-term work. We’ll review your progress together so you always know where you stand.
How Soon Will I Start To Notice Things Getting Better?
Many people begin to feel relief after just a few sessions. Others take longer, especially if challenges have built up over years. Therapy is a process — but small shifts often happen sooner than you expect.
What If I Feel Worse?
Sometimes things feel harder before they get easier, as you start to face painful thoughts or emotions. This is a normal part of the healing process. If this happens, we’ll talk it through and move at a pace that feels safe for you.
Is Everything I Say Confidential?
Yes. Everything you share is treated with strict confidentiality. The only exceptions are if I believe you or someone else is at risk of serious harm, or if I am legally required to disclose information. I will always try to discuss this with you first.
Do You Have Online Therapy?
Yes. I offer counselling both in-person in Peterborough and securely online or over the telephone across the UK. You can choose whichever feels most comfortable for you.
How Can I Contact You?
The best thing to do is either call me on 01733 639 040, book using my online calendar.
