I'm Matthew Mcginty and I'm a Counsellor who is uniquely qualified to help you overcome your relationship difficulties. I've had a lot of varied experiences in life and have benefited immensely from the tools and techniques that I now teach. My relationships weren't always plain sailing, in fact I often inadvertently hurt those I loved. I always thought there was something wrong with me, as it never seemed as easy as I was told it should be. My approach draws on the work of different experts. Alain de Botton at the School of Life has written a lot about the historical effects of Romanticism. This is period of world history that still affects our view of relationships today.
There is also research supporting a Cognitive Behaviour Approach to relationships. This looks at the thoughts and style of communication we have. Finally, there is the work of John Gottman. John spent 30 years or more studying couples and can now predict after 30 seconds with 90% accuracy whether a couple will break apart within 6 months. His work is informative. At a minimum, it helps couples understand the principles behind what makes a marriage and relationship work.
